A Heartbeat Away

At the center is a young aspiring rock guitarist who has nothing but disdain for the old fogies’ music he associates with his father, the musical director of a marching band in their sleepy seaside town. He changes his tune when his dad is in an accident and he has to take over the baton and try to lead the band in a competition they must win to prevent the town falling into the clutches of greedy property developers. “Heartbeat” was directed by Australia’s acclaimed stage director Gale Edwards. (Australia 2011, 91 minutes).
